abstract="With this paper I want to remember André Gorz, ten years after his suicide with Dorine Keir, his life-long love, because I think that Gorz's thought is a forgotten legacy, in Italy. Particularly, I present André Gorz's thought as an argument for the introduction of a Universal and Unconditional Basic Income (an allocation universelle), a revenue d'existence, a guaranteed social income - a tool for individual emancipation and collective solidarity to depart from a société salariale [wage-earning society] and from a Fordist society. For André Gorz, in dialogue with Philippe Van Parijs, universal and unconditional basic income is a form of new solidarity and social justice in a knowledge-based economy/cognitive capitalism; it is, then, adequate to our contemporary digital era. Basic income is an opportunity to experiment with a post-capitalist society, characterized by social cooperation, political and social ecology, and liberation from work. I am sure that, one day, the XXI century will be gorzienne.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
