abstract="A study has been conducted to determine whether the actual posted advisory speed on horizontal curves follow a certain criteria and how motorists comply with these posted advisory speeds on curves. This study resulted from observations that the advisory speeds on curves are set too low and are not set consistently from state to state or even within a given state. Various data were collected and analyzed to address several factors such as the posted advisory speeds as against the recommended and observed values, motorist compliance to the posted advisory speeds, and recommended speeds based on existing ball-bank criteria as against the prevailing speeds. <p>Language: en</p>",
