abstract="Majority of the U.S. highway system consists of two- and three-lane rural roads. Some of these rural highways are becoming congested, and as a result, the number of accidents is also increasing. Recognizing the severity of the problem, a National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) has been initiated. Through this project, the Accident Mitigation Guide has been established. The resulting guide provides one comprehensive document that a practitioner can use to investigate several potential countermeasures for improving safety and/or operations on rural or exurban two- and three-lane highways. <p>Language: en</p>",
