abstract="In order to improve the efficiency of water extinguishing agents, a laboratory test method is designed and a physical model is established to study the application performance of polymer hydrogel extinguishing agents. Firstly, the basic properties of polymer hydrogel extinguishing agents, such as water retention and adhesion, were analyzed. Then, twenty four additives of five categories were added to the hydrogel extinguishing agent before their properties were tested separately in the laboratory and comparison was made with the original extinguishing agent to select the additives which feature the best adhesion and high temperature resistance. Finally, a physical model was built and the performance of the improved hydrogel fire extinguishing agent was verified. The results show that attapulgite has the best effect on improving the adhesion and high temperature resistance of hydrogel fire extinguishing agents; the improved fire extinguishing agent with attapulgite can lower the peak temperature of tank walls, delay the time it takes to reach the peak temperature and proves good in cooling the adjacent tank. © 2019 China Safety Science Journal<p /><p>Language: zh</p>",
