abstract="In order to ensure reliability and accuracy of measured results of coal seam gas content, freezing core sample technology was introduced, an experimental study on coal gas adsorption process was conducted at low temperature and variable temperature by using high and low temperature adsorption test device, and variation characteristics of gas adsorption capacity during cooling process was analyzed. The results show that during programmed cooling process, temperature of coal samples in tanks slowly decreases first and then tends to be stable, and these changes generally happen in the first three hours after which temperature will maintain stable and basically close with that of external environment. During experimental cooling process, adsorption capacity would increases and decrease alternately (increase for general trend) before it achieves a stable status along with stability of temperature. It is also found that adsorption capacity decrease stage basically shows a linear change trend with a decline rate increasing first and then decreasing. © 2019 China Safety Science Journal.
