abstract="In order to address defects of low gel strength and easy cracking of traditional WG, a polymer A and a crosslinking agent B were introduced into WG gel to prepare A-B/WG composite gel formed by interpenetrating network of water glass and polymer. Then, fire prevention and extinguishing performance of composite gel was explored by studying its gel strength, plugging property, micromorphology and inhibition property. The results show that addition of polymer A significantly enhances strength and water retention of WG gel, and solves its problem of cracking and grinding after water loss. Compared with WG gel, A-B/WG composite gel has a stronger and more tightly wrapped skeleton structure, and its retarding rate reaches as high as 69.1%, 3.7 times higher than that of WG gel (14.7%). Meanwhile, it can effectively inhibit coal combustion and prevent coal reburning. © 2020 China Safety Science Journal. All rights reserved.<p /><p>Language: zh</p>",
