abstract="A new kind of liquid dust suppressant was prepared by using carboxyl methyl cellulose, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polyacrylic acid sodium salt, anhydrous sodium sulfate as raw materials. Experiments were carried out on suppressing dust on the surface of the coal powder cake by the new kind of suppressant. The results show that the dust suppressant gives shape to an effective protective film and a stable solidified layer on the surface of the coal sample, which can effectively reduce the water evaporation, and impact resistance and rain erosion resistance, and that the dust suppressant can accelerate the water penetration, but when the solution viscosity exceeds a certain value, the dust suppressant is concentrated on the surface, the solidification and permeability were degraded. The similar dust control experiment proved that the suppressant can effectively resist the high-speed flow field shock, reduce coal dust emission and control environmental pollution. © 2019 China Safety Science Journal.
