abstract="In this study, a methodology for estimating the collision mitigation ratio is discussed, using the collision-prevention support braking system as an example. First, the driver's viewing behaviour was investigated in a driving simulator by changing the control timing of the collision-prevention support braking system. Viewing behaviour was identified in terms of the duration from looking off a proceeding vehicle to looking back and braking behaviour was identified in terms of the reaction time for braking in order to avoid a collision. In this analysis, the driver's braking behavior was investigated not only under the system's proper operation but also under its non-operative condition. Next, to investigate the combined effect caused by a driver error and the collision-prevention system error, the time series reliability model simulating its operating status was constructed. The effectiveness of the system with different control setting was quantitatively compared as the collision frequency and as the collision velocity calculated through time series Monte Carlo simulations.<p /><p>Language: ja</p>",
