abstract="We thank Wen-Wang Rao and colleagues for their interest and comments on our research article published in The Lancet Psychiatry.1 As pointed out by Rao and colleagues, we failed to include the article by Chiang and colleagues2 in our review. However, the prevalence of suicidal ideation reported for fourth grade children (aged 9-10 years old) aligns perfectly with our pooled prevalence. Systematic reviews aim to identify all available evidence to answer a specific research question. However, despite the use of rigorous methods, it is common that studies are missed. Although, as described in our supplemental material, we calculated different statistics to assess risk of bias owing to missing studies, we agree that a more comprehensive search could have minimised bias due to missed studies. Therefore, future updates of this meta-analysis should aim to modify the search algorithm to minimise the chance of missing pertinent articles.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
