abstract="One of the referrals that a counselor can make for callers to the three problem services of the Suicide Prevention and Crisis Service in Buffalo is to the SPCS itself. Patients can be seen anytime between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. for individual face-to-face therapy.   The proportion of patients given appointment at the SPCS for therapy who actually showed ranged in successive months from 29% to 56% (Lester, 1970).
