abstract="High voltage (HV) power lines induce an alternating current (AC), this latter causes corrosion damages on neighbouring metallic structures, known as the AC corrosion phenomena. Therefore, we conducted a research. First, we did an experimental investigation on a laboratory model, in order to realize electrochemical tests on a sample of pipeline steel; thereby, we used an advanced potentiostat as a measuring device. Then, as we found that the numerical simulation study of AC corrosion is minimal in the electrochemical and the electric fields, we did further numerical simulation studies. Where, we studied the electrochemical reactions of the corrosion phenomena such as anodic process and cathodic process; i.e. the oxidation of the iron and the reduction of both the oxygen and the hydrogen. We have also simulated the CP, the AC corrosion and the deformation of the sample of pipeline steel. At last, in order to remedy to this problem, we developed a monitoring and correction program for optimizing the AC corrosion. In this article, the main novelty of our work resides in our represented and obtained experimental and numerical simulation results, which are in good agreement, and the development of a rectification program for an automatic mitigation of AC Corrosion.
