abstract="Addressing nightime driving hazards, headlight systems manufacturers are aiming to provide sufficient low-beam lighting while avoiding glare for the incoming traffic. To increase the safety level, the challenge for designers is to adapt optical parameters and characteristics of headlight systems for various traffic and environmental conditions. Adaptive front lighting systems are now drawing interest as these systems precisely illuminate curves and that light distribution can be adjusted to the type of road. The main functional elements include static bend lighting, dynamic bend lighting and variable adaptive front lighting systems. At present, full-scale camera-based systems with optical data processing are being developed to achieve truly adaptive front lighting systems.<p />",
