abstract="University of Leeds and MIRA Ltd., have conducted a research project on intelligent speed adaptation (ISA) system in automobiles, with funding from the UK's Department for Transport. For the research purpose, the system is deployed on Skoda Fabia 1.4-liter petrol Estate, which has an electronic throttle with a signal, which can be readily modified by ISA software. Tuning on the ignition activates the car's ISA system and if the driver even slightly exceeds the statutory speed limit along a road, the accelerator pedal gently vibrates. The onboard ISA reacts in milliseconds, as well as displaying the latest speed limits updates onscreen, the system intervenes and gently brakes the card until the correct, legal speed is reached. The system represents a major leap in technology and has the potential to reduce accident injuries by 20% and fatal accidents by 37%.   <p>Language: en</p>",
