abstract="There is a paucity of literature regarding atraumatic distalthird humeral shaft fractures, or "thrower's fracture." We report on a case of a healthy adult male, amateur athlete, who suffered an atraumatic fracture of the humerus while throwing a softball with his dominant arm. He underwent operative repair and developed a radial nerve palsy postoperatively that recovered 4/5 strength by 6 weeks and 5/5 strength by 12 weeks. Through this case report, we hope to increase the awareness of this unique injury and highlight the presentation, treatment, and complications associated with the thrower's fracture.

Language: en
",
