abstract="Utilizing a measure of decision-making styles, we examined how a dual-process model of criminal decision-making mediated the relationship between trait self-control and self-reported criminal behavior. Structural Equation Modeling revealed that a dual-process model of decision-making mediated the relationship between trait self-control and self-reported criminal behavior. Although deliberative decision-making did not hold a significant association with self-reported criminal behavior, trait self-control negatively associated with an intuitive style, which in turn positively associated with self-reported criminal behavior. These findings imply that intuitive decision-making may be a critical mediator between self-control and criminal behavior. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
