abstract="A study has been carried out by the County Surveyors' Society Accident Reduction Working Group which collected information from a number of Highway Authorities on accidents collected at signalized roundabouts. The objective was to explore the relationship between accident rates signals at roundabouts to see if there was any evidence that the installation of signals led to a change in the numbers of accidents. For all categories of signalized roundabouts, there was a 36 percent reduction in the number of cycle accidents at the signalized entries. For all roundabouts with full-time signals, there was an even larger reduction of accidents at 66 percent.<p />",
