A GP who was jailed for nine months after being found guilty of human trafficking for the purpose of exploitation has been struck off by a medical practitioners tribunal. Ayodeji Adewakun, 46, neglected to tell her out-of-hours employer that she faced serious criminal charges and told colleagues at her general practice that her legal issues were merely a domestic problem concerning a wage dispute. Adewakun and her husband, Abimbola Adewakun, 48, a nurse, were imprisoned for nine and six months, respectively, over their treatment of Lydia Ogundowala, 30.
