abstract="People can read someone's mind by observing their behavior because behavior reflects his or her state of mind. It is important to understand the perspective of another person to form and maintain desirable relationships with others. Understanding someone means knowing that you can look at the situation from the perspective of others. But, embedding emotion into cognitive understanding can lead to empathic understanding. Empathy is more than just putting oneself in someone's shoes. However, in the modern society, the structure such as nuclear family and the overly competitive environment makes it more focused on oneself rather than understanding others. Therefore, it is necessary to lead children have the roots of empathy in early childhood years as they build foundation of life. Thus, this study aims to provide basic data for the development of empathy education for children by examining the relations between children's theory of mind and empathic ability.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
