abstract="This review describes the various components of a trauma team, and emphasises its value as one of many parts of a trauma system. The evidence for the team is weak and based on expert opinion and experience. Nevertheless, the evidence that high quality trauma systems improve survival, and that a trauma team is a vital component of all such systems is compelling. There is no evidence that a particular component of the team is essential. The trauma team is likely to have most impact on patients with moderate severity of trauma and probability of survival.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
