abstract="This article explores clergy perspectives about building community partnerships and discusses the significant qualities of such partnerships for affecting change in the arena of intimate partner violence in the African American church. The article uses a subset of findings from a broader qualitative research project and then discusses the benefits of improved collaboration. Social work partnerships with African American Protestant Christian churches are an effective tactic in this regard. This article includes cultural competence and social justice concerns in relation to such partnerships. Additionally, it explores strategies for resolving some conflicts affecting social work-church partnerships. (c) 2016 NACSW. All rights reserved.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
