abstract="In addition to examining activities like phone calling while driving, there is increasing interest in researching other secondary activities such as writing and sending short messages (SMS). This experiment examined the effect of receiving and sending SMS manually or by voice-control on performance, subjective strain and physiological strain of the driver. It showed a deterioration in all parameters compared with a control condition; however; this deterioration was less pronounced in the voice-controlled condition. The drop in performance of young drivers (up to 33 years of age) was less than that of older drivers; however, there was still a reduction.<p /> <p>Language: de</p>",
