abstract="This paper is based on a review of studies in the fields of traffic psychology and developmental psychology concerning children aged 3 to 10. In a further step a critical analysis was done. While older studies had a practical relevance for traffic safety, in newer studies the correlation to traffic safety has to be derived and is often not conclusively proven through investigating the criterion validity. This is one of the methodological problems that need to be discussed and for which solutions are proposed. With regard to the development of some competences there is still a need for further research. Based on present knowledge an interdisciplinary model for traffic safety work was designed. The hexagon of traffic safety work complements the well-known pedagogical triangle consisting of child, parents and pedagogue with three additional aspects (driving school, infrastructure and road user). lt focuses on all six components of traffic safety from a traffic psychologist's point of view.<p /> <p>Language: de</p>",
