abstract="The trafficking of women and children for the sex trade is considered one of the worst and most exploitive forms of human trafficking. Thailand plays a major role globally in trafficking for the sex trade. This article will present estimates on the scope of human trafficking in Thailand, examine the regional and domestic context of it, explore the link between trafficking and sex work, describe what is being done to combat it, analyze the barriers to halting it, and explore the need for more research about trafficking.
