abstract="People who have been bereaved by suicide may be a particularly vulnerable group with special needs. They may experience shame, guilt, and feelings of stigma and rejection, which may make them feel isolated and unsupported, and make it harder for them to obtain help. Potential resources include books, support groups and internet sites providing information and advice. One approach to addressing the needs of the bereaved and those of people in contact with them is the development of information resources, such as Bereavement Information Packs. This presentation will focus on a specific Information Pack produced as part of the National Suicide Prevention Strategy for England. It will provide details on how the Pack was developed and its content. This includes information on Practical Matters, describing official procedures, the inquest, arranging a funeral, and dealing with media attention; and sections on Grief Experiences; How Friends Can Help, Sources of Support and Further Reading. The Pack also includes sections for specific groups such as children; parents; partners; lesbian, gay and bisexual people; and professionals who have contact with the bereaved. Plans for dissemination and evaluation of the Pack will be described. This presentation will be of interest to people who wish to develop similar resources in other countries.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
