abstract="Aerial pictures of highway traffic were obtained using a reasonably priced, 35-mm movie camera modified for the purpose. Satisfactory definition was obtained by projecting the pictures at a magnification up to 40 diameters with a two- by two- in. Slide projector. Pictures taken from a light plane at between 3,500 and 4,000 ft. Revealed interesting information on driver behavior. Further work is necessary on an interval timer, aiming mechanism, and procedure for keeping vertically over the highway. The method was shown to be practical to obtain, in a short time, information on the adequacy of interchange design from driver-vehicle behavior, on passing practices and other driving procedures.<p />",
