abstract="Self-mutilation behaviour (SMB) is an act of self-harm behaviour independent of intentionality of death. The purpose of the present study is to compare suicide attempters, with or without history of SMB, in a sample of youngsters from both sexes with ages between 11 an 21 years old, who presented for first evaluation at &quot;Nucleo de Estudos do Suicidio&quot; of Psychiatry Department of &quot;Hospital de Santa Maria&quot;, during the year of 2006. the hypothesis are that in young people with a history of SMB, it's more frequent the presence of a history of sexual abuse or physical violence during childhood, family conflicts, insatisfaction with own body, and incapability of verbally expressing emotions.   <p></p>  <p>Language: en</p>",
