abstract="The development and piloting of the assessment tool is carried out in cooperation between the Suicide Prevention Project of the Mental Health Centres in the Province Limburg, Belgium, the Unit for Suicide Research, Ghent University, and the University of Hasselt, with the support of the Flemish Ministry of Well-being and Health. The aim is to develop and implement a tool for hospital staff to facilitate assessment of patient needs, suicide risk, and subsequently decide on appropriate care for the patient admitted because of a suicide attempt. The Tool for Psychosocial Care and Assessment is currently piloted in six general hospitals within a catchment area. The implementation strategy includes training of staff within the hospitals. A one group pretest and post-test design study evaluates the evolution in attitudes and self-efficacy of the trained personnel.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
