abstract="On the basis of a comprehensive experimental-psychological examination of clinically healthy people of advanced age groups, the authors have established the main regularities of changes in mental activity with age. It is demonstrated that deterioration of memory, attention and apractognostic processes is largely due to a reduction in the tone of the brain cortex.
