abstract="MMPI profiles were obtained for 411 institutionalized juvenile offenders using adolescent norms reported by Dahlstrom, Welsh and Dahlstrom. Nearly threequarters of the profiles had one or more clinical elevations, suggesting that the majority had some form of psychopathology and/or emotional conflicts. A large number of profile types were found, indicating a wide diversity of difficulties. Implications for delinquency theory and clinical treatment are discussed.
