abstract="This article provides a condensed description of a small, qualitative research project on six children who were referred to NSPCC projects in the North of England because they were sexually abusing other children. The children were aged under 12 and the researchers studied their histories, their offences and the treatment they received The research indicates that it is unhelpful to children to ignore sexually abusive behaviours and that all the children had suffered some kind of abuse and had angry feelings which had not been addressed It is concluded that the most effective treatment combines cognitive behavioural work with creative psychotherapy for children, with educative support for carers.<p />",
