abstract="Research shows that sexual assault advocates confront barriers in their efforts to prevent and respond to sexual assault. Research also highlights distinct collaboration issues related to the advocates' constituencies or victim populations. In particular, past studies show that collaboration issues arise differently for community-based versus campus-based sexual assault advocates. Building on past research, this study assesses whether structural barriers are also different for community- and campus-based advocates. Focus groups were conducted with 49 sexual assault advocates in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Results show that structural barriers differ between community- and campus-based advocates. The authors discuss the implications of the different barriers, recommendations for addressing them and suggestions for future research.Keywords: sexual assault, rape, date rape, campus crime<p />",
