abstract="Background: traumatic hernias of the abdominal wall caused by handlebars are a rare type of hernia but with clinical and therapeutic connotations of great interest. Clinical cases: we report 3 new cases, 1 case with diagnosis on admission and emergency treatment by open approach, and 2 with a diagnostic delay of 6 months and operated on a scheduled basis using totally extraperitoneal laparoscopy. We provide here an update. Discussion: the diagnosis must be completed with a CT to rule out visceral lesions. Treatment depends on the severity of their presentation. In severe associated injuries or urgent situations surgery should be the norm. In mild cases without other injury laparoscopic surgery may be indicated. With this study, we hope to augment the knowledge on this kind of hernia, and lead to early diagnosis and treatment.<p /> <p>Language: es</p>",
