abstract="Based on the relation between fault slip destabilization and rockburst, a catastrophe model of Strike-slip and Viscous-elastic-brittle was established in order to study the mechanism of fault slip induced rockburst. The FLAC5.02D numerical simulation software was used to study the effect of fault on roof movement during mining according to the geological conditions of No. 6303 working face in Jining No. 3 Coal Mine. The results show that the mechanics criterion of fault slip induced rockburst can be analyzed by the following two kinds: the first mechanism is fault slip dynamically induced rockburst when the fault with a high slip velocity, such as fault slip destabilization, and the second mechanism is fault slip statically induced rockburst when the fault with a low slip velocity. In the first kind, the rockburst is easy to happen, and more energy is violently released comparability. The velocity of fault slip is related to the velocity of working face advancing, the distance from working face to the fault, strength property of fault plane, normal stress of fault plane and the mining depth. The fault slip displacement and slip velocity sharply increase when the working face advances from the footwall to the fault itself or from the hanging wall to the fault itself. The slip displacement and slip velocity when the working face advances from the footwall to the fault is higher than that the face from the hanging wall to the fault, which results in a high risk of a fault rock burst.<p />",
