abstract="Primus stoves account for a large proportion of burn injuries in the developing world. The mechanism of these injuries is closely linked with factors relating to stove design, fuel characteristics and the socioeconomic profile of victims. We review the current literature on these injuries with particular attention to the injury mechanisms and epidemiological data available. We additionally summarize the initiatives so far developed worldwide for their prevention and define directions for further research into reducing the burden associated with Primus stove burn injuries.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>",
