abstract="The role of employers in injury prevention in any organization is discussed. Injuries and violence can touch and affect the lives and may result in permanent disability or death. The injured person's employer may struggle with the loss of a valued employee. This impact may also extend to the employers of the injured person's caretakers that may have direct economic impact. It is suggested that mentoring programs can reduce the risk of youth violence, home safety education can prevent senior falls, and maintaining social connections is a protective factor for those susceptible to risk. The injury center of center for disease control (CDC) can provide prevention tools and resources to share with employees. The center also provides information about preventing motor vehicle crashes, falls, drowning, suicide, youth violence, child maltreatment, and other unintentional and violent injuries.<p />",
