abstract="The paper discusses rainfall as a dynamic parameter in terms of the load-unload response theory, using the Xintan landslide in China as a case study. The computational results show that an abrupt jump occurs in the curve of the load-unload response ratio just before the landslide takes place. This indicates the potential of the dynamic parameter of rainfall for the prediction of colluvial landslides.<p />",
