abstract="Data from the National Incidence Study of Child Abuse and Neglect are used to examine the maltreatment of adolescents. The discussion considers the type of maltreatment adolescents experience and the response of service agencies. Adolescents are compared with younger children to identify differences in the form of abuse and neglect they experience and the reporting of that mistreatment. Implications of the results are noted for programs serving youth who have been abused and neglected.<p />",
