abstract="A task-centered, home-based service to high-risk families is described, and data presented about service characteristics and their relationship to outcomes. Paraprofessionals provided six months of services which resulted in lower Child Abuse Potential Inventory (CAPI) scores. The relationships between the number of contacts, task accomplishment, goal achievement, client satisfaction, and CAPI scores provide otherwise hard-to-find evidence about the active ingredient of a successful child abuse prevention program.<p />",
