abstract="This paper presents a detailed description of a multi-modal cognitive-behavioral group curriculum for abusive parents. The curriculum, piloted with 23 parents, addresses both maladaptive parental attitudes and behavioral skills deficits in the following four content areas: 1. child development, 2. teaching, 3. behavior problem management, and 4. anger control. Specific process strategies for promoting consistent parental attendance at group meetings and minimizing resistance to group content are also described. The integration of this cost-effective group approach into an ongoing treatment program is discussed.<p />",
