abstract="This article adopts a postmodern/postcolonial feminist perspective in analysing the effect of the cancellation of marital rape exemption in Hong Kong in 2002. Besides exploring the patriarchal ideology which underlies Hong Kong's legal system, the author argues that neither white western feminist strategies nor Foucauldian de-sexualisation can easily substantiate (gender) justice in Hong Kong. The author further argues that any legal reforms in Hong Kong should be examined in the light of Han Chinese culture.<p />",
