abstract="The field of sports injury prevention research has progressed significantly over the past decade. Recently, there has been a shift towards development and evaluation of injury prevention measures. While published studies have described the effectiveness of interventions in the controlled environment of a research project, the feasibility and necessary approaches to translate the research findings into the 'real world' is often neglected. This paper provides an important and timely discussion of injury prevention, implementation of findings and insight into how research should be translated into practice. The strength of this work lies in the emphasis on undertaking research that considers the true goal of injury prevention research which is the broad uptake of prevention behaviours which will ultimately reduce sports injuries in the population. Consideration of the feasibility of interventions and the potential for widespread uptake in the real world should be considered prior to any trial-based evaluation as there is little to be gained from proving the effectiveness of an intervention that will never be accepted by sports participants. The inclusions of steps considering the culture of the sport, barriers and motivators to uptake, and the involvement of sports in any effort to improve safety are key elements of this paper. The TRIPP framework provides a comprehensive approach to undertaking sports injury prevention research with the greatest probability of having a real world impact. As such, the TRIPP framework provides a practical and meaningful approach to research leading to sports injury and should be adopted by all researchers in this field.  <p></p>  <p>Language: en</p>",
