abstract="<p><br/>This editorial discusses the lack of common ground between the fields of law and psychology and points out several ways in which one discipline complements the other. Law is slow in making departures from its historic norms; it is skeptical in its attitude toward untried methods of social control. It seeks sound bases for its forward steps. If psychology can furnish it with some assurance of the social response to its projected stimulus, it will be indeed grateful. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)</p><p />",
