abstract="Regulations and interventions to protect far side occupants in side impact crashes do not currently exist, even though these occupants account for up to 40% of harm in real world side impact crashes. To address this, a comprehensive international research program has been assembled involving many of the world’s experts in side impact protection and biomechanics. Seven work-tasks are outlined for conducting this research, which is due to be completed by the end of 2007.<p />",
