abstract="In new automobile design safety testing, fully instrumented dummies still play vital roles, in spite of great computer technology advances. FTSS is a firm that provides vehicle crash safety system design and evaluation tools. Current trends in the field of crash dummies include both technological and commercial developments. The author believes that in the future, more detailed insight into human behavior under crash loading will be provided by further biomechanical research. This should lead toward new tolerances, risk functions, and injury criteria for all automobile passengers, including children and the elderly.<p />",
