abstract="Of the 36 intersections analyzed in this report, 27 include programmed signal installations applicable to any one of the four problem categories; eight intersections were equipped with programmed signal heads to improve any two of the above conditions; and one complex intersection had the first three present. With these duplications the four categories were identified as occurring with the following frequency: 16 skew intersections; 13 closely spaced intersections; 11 intersections with exclusive turning movements; 6 intersections with pedestrian/vehicle signal conflicts.<p />",
