abstract="A study of driver behavior on rural road curves has matched the design of the two-lane rural highway horizontal curves to drivers' expectations and behavior. Procedures for the evaluation of the performance or the quality of service of these roads are still being developed. However, it is known that performance and quality of service roads are affected by the overtaking (or passing) frequency which in turn is affected by the rate vehicles catch up to slower vehicles and the ability of drivers to overtake (or pass) others. Differences between the catch-up rates and the overtaking rates are exhibited by increased bunching or platooning and a lower quality of service.<p />",
