abstract="The paper gives a piece of evidence that the intersection capacities contained in the Highway Capacity Manual are lower than actual capacity. Second, it presents data supporting the theory that intersection capacity should be calculated solely on the number of approach lanes, rather than feet of approach width adjusted for parking/no parking and percent trucks. Third, it presents a metholology which can be used to easily establish intersection capacities in a particular geographical area.<p />",
