abstract="A Florida Department of Transportation project is described which will assess the feasibility of constructing grade separations at 7 sites, candidate locations based on future traffic projections, and identify a preferred alternative at each site. Initially, a general comparison will be made of grade separation alternatives that can be used to quickly isolate the most appropriate alternatives for further study based on site-specific characteristics. This paper considers the relative performances of the tight-diamond interchange (TDI) and the single-point urban interchange (SPUI). The analysis methodology is described, as well as its application and results.<p />",
