abstract="Richmond Circle is a 360m long grade separator in the centre of Bangalore, India. The separator was completed at a cost of 18 crores and was opened to traffic in April 2001. Details are given of the site, the design criteria, and the principles of the successful proposal are discussed. The technical details are given for design loadings, the superstructure (grade separator/standard span, obligatory spans at Langford Road Junction, Blood Bank Circle, Richmond Circle), cost savings, aesthetics, and structural design. The challenges faced during the construction of the flyover are outlined.<p />",
