abstract="In a long-term follow-up study of hospitalized border-line patients with narcissistic traits that either fell short of or fulfilled DSM criteria for narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), outcome was similar to outcome in the borderline group as a whole. An exception was encountered in the subgroup of narcissistic borderlines who also showed marked antisocial traits: poor outcome was the rule in this subgroup. In general, borderlines with NPD tended to be male and to be more at risk for suicide than non-NPD borderlines.<p /><p>Language: en</p>",
